As for the other two units on this property, both a small cottage and the downstairs of this Lakehouse, they are continuing their development which will not interfere with your tranquil stay. As to qualify as a seasonal rental, the Twin Lakes Regional Sewer District rules were to remove the full size cooking stove, yeah I don’t get it either. But we did add a dishwasher in that space, microwave stays, new countertop toaster bake oven (big enough for standard frozen pizza etc.) and a new cook plate electric single burner. And maybe the best part is the HUGE entertaining lawn - perfect for yard games, as well as the fire pit and large deck attached with deck chairs and table for outdoor dining. All facing Lake Freeman! It’s the perfect oasis away from it all! The dock and boathouse is just steps away, down below about 20 stairs. Bring your floats, and jump on in lake freeman! You can fish & swim right from your “home”. We supply majority of basic kitchen needs / linens / the basics. If you have any specific questions on what we have stocked, please let me know! (Dishes, utensils, kuerig, even some boardgames, and yardgames for fun!) 2 Large flat-screen TVs in living spaces, if you must come in from the relaxing deck... and because part of the lake life is unplugging, we have a nice library of books for your enjoyment as well as board and card games also. This house was built in 1888 but was completely remodeled in 2016 to update all the amenities and to revive the beautiful historical details. This house is situated on 75 acres of woods and farm ground near Lake Shafer in Buffalo, IN. It is approximately 10 miles North of Indiana Beach. It is secluded enough for a much needed get away but located close enough to enjoy all the activities the area has. This house is great for families and for a couples get away. The parking area is large enough for several vehicles as well as a boat trailer. There are several boat launches close by for boating on Lake Shafer or Lake Freeman. If you don't have a boat of your own, there are rental places in the area that rent boats and wave runners. The house is approximately 1700 sq ft and has 4 bedrooms and 1 bathroom with central A/C. The master bedroom is on the 1st floor and has a queen size bed. The first bedroom upstairs doubles as a TV room, but has a twin size trundle bed that sleeps two. The second bedroom upstairs has a king size bed and the third upstairs bedroom has two twin sized beds. There is also a separate laundry room and office area on the first floor. The kitchen and bathroom are fully furnished with items to get your stay started. We would recommend bringing additional items for longer stays. All linens are provided. This house also has an enclosed front porch great for relaxing. Outside you will find a gas grill and a fire pit that is great for making memories around. The property also has a creek that runs through it creating a wonderful habitat for many deer and wild turkey (no hunting is allowed on this property). The property is great for taking walks, riding your bike and seeing nature.

One bedroom also has a toddler bed if you have little ones under the age of 6. The spacious living room has a large double reclining couch, a loveseat that pulls out as a twin-size sofa sleeper for added sleeping accommodations (for one) and a brand new (April 2019) leather reclining glider lounge chair for extra seating and added comfort. There is plenty of space to lounge on the couches while you and your family or friends pass the hours in the evening watching TV or planning what you’ll do next during your getaway. The bathroom and cottage floorings were also updated and replaced in winter of 2018, providing a fresh new look and feel for your comfort and for a beautiful "Gaines-like" style. The kitchen has all new stainless-steel appliances, but lacks a dishwasher. You can get back to basics by hand-washing dishes with your loved ones, or have the kids show you how responsible they can be by helping with cleanup. We've added more storage with some new cabinets, storage cupboards and a kitchen cart island. The look is stunning and the extra storage is super helpful. There is a flat-screen television in the living room with basic cable for evenings catching up on your favorite shows, playing DVD's or watching the game. You can also explore nearby restaurants, bars, movie theaters, the drive-in theater, or the local winery if something social is your goal. NOTES: All guests who are responsible for renting the cottage (the Primary Renter) MUST be 25 (twenty-five) years of age or older. The Primary Renter is required to stay at the cottage during the rental period; you may not rent the cottage for others who may be younger than 25 years of age. This cottage sleeps a total of 5 persons in beds (6 if you have a little one under the age of 6). The maximum number of overnight guests staying in the cottage is 6. If there is an overage in the number of overnight guests, the Primary Renter will be charged $20/night/person. The cottage is also PET FREE and strictly NO SMOKING.
