Indiana man in critical condition after rescue from Lake Shafer

An Indiana man is in critical condition after being pulled from Lake Shafer in Monticello.

Crews responded after the man was reported missing in the water near the Riviera Resort, which is by Indiana Beach.

He had last been seen by family near the end of one of the resort's piers.

After 28 minutes of searching, crews found the 43-year-old man in 18 feet of water. He was rushed to the hospital.

It's unclear how he got into the water.
